Frequently Asked Questions

Brand Center of Gold, as well as the website www.centarzlata.com they are owned by the company Saiva doo, the leading distributor of investment precious metals in Croatia. We sell and buy gold and silver bars, gold coins and silver coins on the most favorable terms in Croatia and the region.

Unlike ordinary gold in the form of jewelry, etc., on which VAT is paid upon purchase, investment gold is exempt from all taxes throughout the EU.

In Europe, gold bars are considered investment if they are made of gold with a purity of at least 99,5%. Most reputable mints today make bars with a gold content of 99,99%.

In order for a gold coin to be considered an investment, it must have a gold purity of at least 90% and have a nominal value in any currency in the name (most often it is printed on one side of the gold coin). It is irrelevant whether that currency is valid today. For example, an investment gold coin is considered to be the "Chipkarstvo u Hrvatska" gold coin, which has a printed value of 10 euros on one side, but also a Yugoslav gold coin with a printed value in dinars or extremely popular in our area Franjo Josip ducat, which comes in two versions – single ducat (1 ducat) and quadruple ducat (4 ducats).

There are more reasons. Part of the gold investors want to protect their life savings from inflation with this investment. Others do not trust banks and paper currencies without any cover, so they want to own the world's most valued natural currency, which has been proven for thousands of years to be an extremely safe and desirable asset, namely gold. Others believe that the price of gold will rise in the coming years, so they want to achieve a higher return by investing than it is possible to have on investment funds, etc. Read other arguments for investing in gold in the text at this page.

Throughout history, there have been periods in which the price of gold rose extremely much in the short term, for example an increase of approximately 200% from 2007 to 2011. But such big moves are the exception, not the rule. Gold is not an investment like individual shares or cryptocurrencies, where you can get rich within a few years, but it is therefore a much safer investment with which you can sleep peacefully. Its primary function is the protection of value, and it has performed this function perfectly for thousands of years. Over the past 50 years, the price of gold has grown at an average of about 8% per year, which is higher than interest rates on savings even in good economic times.

Counterfeit gold is much rarer than people think. Today, there are various devices and techniques that can be used to check gold bars and gold coins, so possible forgeries are detected very quickly. In addition, no smelter or company engaged in the distribution of gold should allow itself to even unintentionally sell fake gold, because just one such case would cause great damage to the company's reputation.

The gold we offer is made from reputable mints (many of them are located at to the LBMA list), which means that they produce gold in accordance with the world's strictest criteria.

For each product purchased from us, we issue a certificate that states where the gold was purchased and who checked it.

Learn more about gold assaying techniques at this page.

You can see how the quality of investment gold is checked at the Gold Center in the attached video:

Most gold bars come in original plastic packaging that serves as a certificate. The package has the same serial number that is on the lever, as well as information about the manufacturer, weight and cleanliness of the lever.

Bars from 250g and above do not come in plastic packaging, but some smelters (eg Argor Heraeus) issue a separate certificate with them. Other smelters (such as Munza Osterreich) do not issue certificates for ingots of 250g and larger because they consider that there is no need for it. Today, using various devices and information from the Internet, it is easy to determine whether gold is real or not.

Regardless of whether the lever has a factory certificate or not, we issue our certificate along with it, on which is written the serial number of the lever, other relevant data and the signature of our employee who checked the lever and issued the certificate. We also issue such certificates for all gold coins that do not have their own factory certificate.

Process of packet rejection in case of damaged packet

If the client refuses to receive the package, and it is not damaged?

The package is returned to the Sender (Saiva doo), and the paid delivery service is not returned to the Principal.

If the client refuses to receive a package that is damaged?

In case of damage to the Package, upon delivery, GLS offers the possibility to check the content, and in order to settle the compensation, it registers the result of the check together with the Recipient in the log. One copy of the record is delivered to the Recipient. If, during delivery, the client notices that the package has external damage, he has the right to refuse collection or to request the opening of the package, the checking of the contents and the drawing up of a record of possible damage. In case of damage or loss of the contents of the Package, the Recipient or another authorized person must file a complaint immediately upon delivery. When delivering the Package, the Recipient has the right to request the completion of the Damage Report form (which is owned by the Deliverer), and the damage can be reported subsequently (after delivery) with proof that the damage did not occur after delivery.

In the case of damage or partial loss of content, the timeliness of the report is a prerequisite for the creation of a justified compensation claim under the GLS. The claimant must ensure the possibility of inspecting the Package or taking the package for inspection to GLS's premises, within 5 Working Days from the date of GLS's notification of the need to inspect the damage, in the condition and packaging in which the Package was delivered. GLS reserves the right to conclude a claim for damages as unjustified, i.e. - depending on the circumstances and in accordance with GLS's free judgment - it reserves the right to conclude a claim for damages based on other available information, if due to non-compliance with the specified procedure it is impossible to determine the circumstances and the party responsible for the damage. Claims for damages are opened when or after reporting damage, via the GLS website on the link Report damage/loss, with the attachment of documentation proving the following:

value of damaged or lost goods (preferably purchase value)

  1. connection of the content with the Recipient of the damaged or lost package (shipping note, sales invoice, etc.)
  2. timeliness of reporting damage/partial loss
  3. a statement about the absence of external insurance coverage for damaged or lost content
  4. proof that the Package was handed over to GLS (in the case of a loss report of a Package for which there is no trace of receipt in the GLS system).

GLS reserves the right to demand additional documentation, in addition to or instead of the above, if the circumstances of the harmful event require it or if it is necessary for the investigation of responsibility for it. In the event that a compensation claim is opened with incomplete and/or invalid documentation, GLS will ask for its completion by contacting the e-mail addresses registered by the applicant when starting the compensation claim on the dedicated website (Report of damage/loss). If these contacts do not exist or are invalid, GLS will contact e-mail addresses from its own database or from publicly available data. Upon notification by GLS about incomplete documentation and the request to submit additional documentation, the applicant has a deadline of 5 working days to submit the requested. In the event that the requested documentation is not delivered within the specified period, the compensation claim is closed and it is considered that the applicant has given up on it. In the event that the applicant does not submit complete documentation within the specified period or that the submitted documentation does not comply with the requested conditions of GLS, GLS reserves the right to conclude a compensation claim based on incomplete documentation. It should be noted here that, as you said and it is written with them, it is not allowed to send gold and silver, so they disclaim all responsibility and potential compensation for damages.

In order to ensure the quality of its service and prevent losses, when delivering the Package from the Recipient, the delivery person may (and with the service AddresseeOnlyService, must) also request information that can facilitate the identification of the Recipient (identity card number, OIB or other information that can facilitate the identification of the Recipient). This information is used exclusively for the purpose of proving the performance of the service when resolving a possible delivery dispute. Evidence of delivery containing the above information is archived in physical and electronic form, and is not transferred to third parties or used for other purposes. With his signature upon collection, the Recipient confirms that he has collected the Package in an undamaged condition. After receiving the Package by the Recipient, GLS is not responsible for any complaints, damage or reduction in the contents of the downloaded Package, except with proof that the damage did not occur after delivery.

Since the price of precious metals changes from second to second, in order to protect ourselves from the risk of a significant change in prices, the offer is limited to a time limit of 1 hour.

If you do not manage to make the payment on time, simply place a new order on our site and make the payment with the updated price.

The price of gold on the stock exchange changes practically every second, but the prices on our website are adjusted to the stock market price every 5 minutes.

You can follow the chart of the movement of the stock exchange price of gold through history at this page, and you can track the prices of individual products here. The prices are adjusted every 5 minutes with the exchange price of gold.

You can see the purchase prices of individual products at this page.

The stock or spot price of gold that can be seen on precious metal price tracking sites is the price at which financial derivatives can be traded, that is, gold that you will never be able to get in physical form. Unlike such digital transactions, the production, storage and delivery of gold bars and gold coins incur costs that make physical investment gold almost always more expensive than the stock market price of gold.

Keep in mind that the purchase price of certain products is higher than the stock market price of gold.

The first reason for the difference in prices is the different production costs of different mints. Namely, due to their size, certain mints manage to obtain gold from mines at a lower price, some have better organized production and therefore need fewer employees, while certain mints solve logistical challenges more successfully than their competitors.

Another reason is the brand and reputation of a particular mint in a particular country. For example, Austrians generally want to buy "domestic" bullion with the Münze Österreich stamp and are willing to pay more for it than Swiss bullion. In such a situation, the smelter applies a slightly higher price to its own products, and as a result makes a higher profit.

There are probably more reasons for the price difference. If you are not buying gold as a gift, but as an investment, we recommend it Heimerle Meule or Argor Heraeus levers. These are extremely reputable mints from Switzerland and Germany.

The lever does not have to have a serial number, and it is up to the manufacturer to decide on its placement.

Buyers who buy bullion without a serial number find it an advantage because of the anonymity.

Since we only offer products from reputable world mints, the products bought from us are known and recognized all over the world. Any company that deals in investment gold will be happy to buy them.

Gold bought from us in Croatia can be sold to us at the best prices, but there are also several other companies that deal with the sale and purchase of investment gold.

That. Find out more about buying gold at this page.
